How Long Does a Season Take
No measured hours-per-season figure for FM27 has been published by Sports Interactive or the press as of Nov 1, 2026; it depends on how many leagues you load, how much of each match you watch, how often the game stops and your PC. Continue Flow, delegation and fewer leagues make FM27 seasons faster.
How long a season of Football Manager 27 takes has no official answer: as of Nov 1, 2026 neither Sports Interactive nor any review had published a measured hours-per-season figure, because the game is not out until Nov 10, 2026 and the time depends on how you play. Four things set it: how many leagues and players you load, how much of each match you watch, how often the game stops you between matches, and how fast your computer is. SI's FM27 setup shows an Estimated Game Speed indicator that changes as you add data, and FM27's new Continue Flow lets you choose fewer breaks between match days.

What did Football Manager 26 take?
The one published data point is from Football Manager 26, not FM27. PC Gamer's reviewer played only four league games and a Europa League fixture in his first eight hours of a Roma save, and blamed the slow pace between fixtures. Much of FM27's interface work, such as fewer pop-up cards and more full screens, is meant to cut clicks. Whether FM27 is faster in practice will be clear from reviews after Nov 10. See FM27 vs FM26.
How to make an FM27 season faster
- Load fewer leagues. SI says game speed depends on how many leagues and players are loaded and on your computer. Make only the leagues you manage in playable and set others view-only, and keep database depth low.
- Choose Streamlined Continue Flow. Streamlined gives fewer breaks; Custom lets you choose whether messages, results, fixtures or news stop play. FM Scout reports the settings also cover how fast other teams' matches are processed. It can be changed later in Preferences (Continue Flow and the Football World).
- Let Continue skip the inbox. The Continue button can be set to step through your messages or carry on with them unread.
- Delegate. Under Club > Responsibilities, staff can take friendlies, team talks, loan deals, media, training and scouting, each of which otherwise costs clicks every week (Staff, Board and Finances).
- Watch less of each match. Shorter highlights mean less time per fixture; FM27's Match Day Experience adds crowds, weather and cutscenes that cost time if you watch everything. The 2D view and past matches have their own playback speed settings, FM Scout reports.
- Check your hardware. Steam lists a recommended Intel Core i5-9600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with 12 GB RAM; a slower PC than that takes longer over the same leagues. See System Requirements.
SI's FM27 material does not mention the Holiday option from earlier games; how it works in FM27 is not confirmed as of Nov 1, 2026.

Continue Flow and the Football WorldIn FM27, Continue Flow sets how often the game stops (Streamlined, Balanced, Comprehensive or Custom) and Continue now takes you through different game areas instead of the News feed; Cup Draws return with a hosted draw, news is split from For You, and 14 fixture-scheduling rules are fixed. -
Staff, Board and FinancesFM27 gives staff more and more actionable advice, gathers staff meeting suggestions into one message, adds the board's and supporters' ratings and deeper finances to monthly reports, and opens a save with a run of welcome messages including the board's club vision meeting; SI has not described other changes to the board or finances.
-
Match Day ExperienceFM27's match day adds overhauled crowds with flags and weather-dressed fans, more stadium designs, a time-of-day system that moves light across the 90 minutes, wet and snowy pitches, 3D grass, varied cutscenes, new body types and hair physics. Highlights can be replayed as soon as you leave a match. -
System RequirementsFootball Manager 27 needs at least 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i3-530 or AMD FX-4100, 6 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380 and 20 GB of storage; Steam recommends Windows 11, an i5-9600 or Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB and an RTX 2060. On Mac it needs macOS 13 and an Apple M1 or Intel Mac.
