Leagues and Licenses

Football Manager 27 has 59 playable nations and two new fully licensed leagues, the ROSHN Saudi League and France's women's Arkema Première Ligue, while the Premier League license continues from FM26. Sports Interactive's Oct 28, 2026 list names every licensed league and club; Spain's LaLiga and Italy's Serie A are not on it.

Football Manager 27 has 59 playable nations, per Sports Interactive, one more than Football Manager 26, and two new fully licensed leagues: the ROSHN Saudi League and the Arkema Première Ligue, France's top women's division. The Premier League, licensed for the first time in FM26, is licensed again. SI published the full list of licensed leagues, cups and clubs on Oct 28, 2026; LaLiga and Serie A are not on it, though 13 Serie A clubs are licensed one by one. SI warns that the licensed experience varies by platform and edition, and the Launch Preview may still miss some club and player assets. In the clip, FM Scout, before SI's Oct 27 announcement, expects the Saudi league from the badges seen in SI's gameplay preview.

How many leagues are in FM27?

SI counts nations, not leagues: 59 playable nations after Saudi Arabia became playable. Each playable nation brings one or more divisions, and SI has not published a total league count as of Nov 1, 2026, so figures that circulate elsewhere are not SI's. FM Scout lists 59 playable men's nations and 12 women's, up from 58 and 11 in FM26, and says the new women's nation is not yet named. In Football Manager 26, FM Scout counted 58 playable men's nations and 11 women's.

SI also lists more than 18 million database changes and 1,500 competition updates, with new cups in Chile and Peru, restructured leagues in Northern Ireland and Wales, and updated North American and African qualifying competitions. SEGA describes the database as more than 800,000 active players and staff.

ROSHN Saudi League

The ROSHN Saudi League makes its debut in FM27 fully licensed, with all 18 clubs' official logos, kits and player photos, and Saudi Arabia becomes a playable nation for the first time. SI's Business Development Director Richard Trafford called it "a long-requested addition to our games."

Arkema Première Ligue

France's top women's league is fully licensed in FM27 through a new partnership with the French Football Federation, with official club logos, kits and player photos. SI notes the league was founded in 1975, has been fully professional since 2024 and is home to OL Lyonnes, eight-time winners of the UEFA Women's Champions League. More on Women's Football. Licensed clubs outside licensed leagues

Some clubs are licensed on their own even though their league is not: Boca Juniors and River Plate in Argentina, FC Porto, SL Benfica and Sporting CP in Portugal, Club América in Mexico, GNK Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, SK Slavia Praha in Czechia, and the 13 Italian clubs above. Brighton & Hove Albion, Football Manager's club partner for an eighth season, leads SI's own FM27 footage.

What is not licensed

SI's Oct 28 post lists its licensors country by country. Going by what it leaves out, as of Nov 1, 2026:

  • Spain: no Spanish league or club appears, so LaLiga and its clubs are not licensed.
  • Italy: Serie A as a competition is not listed, though 13 of its clubs and Serie BKT are.
  • Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil: no league is listed; only the single clubs above.

SI does not say how unlicensed teams, players or competitions appear in FM27. FM Scout notes that fans use unofficial add-ons to improve unlicensed content; see Editors and Mods.

The Launch Preview caveat

The Launch Preview, playable since Oct 29, 2026, "contains information that is still under approval process by right holders," and "some club and player assets may be absent." A logo, kit or photo missing before Nov 10 may arrive with the full game. SI also says the licensed experience varies by platform, so FM27 Console, FM27 Mobile and FM27 Touch may not show all of the list.
