Data Hub
FM27's Data Hub shows eight per-90 stats in more detail (xG, non-penalty xG, xA, dribbles and more), splits passes into short, medium and long with success rates, counts fouls among defensive actions, and brings back Pass Maps, Heat Maps and Action Zones.
Football Manager 27's Data Hub gives sharper numbers: Sports Interactive's Oct 16, 2026 deep dive adds decimal precision to eight per-90 stats (xA, dribbles, shots on target, open play key passes, chances created, xG, non-penalty xG and key tackles), splits passes into Short, Medium and Long with completed totals and success rates, and counts fouls among Out of Possession defensive actions. After a match, the Data Hub shows the returning Pass Maps, and Heat Maps and Action Zones are back during matches. The Data Hub first appeared in Football Manager 2022. The clip is SI's Sep 25, 2026 deep dive, over development-build footage.

The eight stats, in plain words
These are the eight per-90 stats SI lists as getting more decimal places. "Per 90" means the figure is scaled to one full match, so a player who plays half the minutes is compared fairly. The plain meanings are the general football definitions; SI has not published its own formulas.
| Stat | What it means |
|---|---|
| xG (expected goals) | How many goals a player's shots would usually produce, judged by where and how they were taken |
| Non-penalty xG (npxG) | xG without penalties, a better guide to open play and set pieces |
| xA (expected assists) | The xG of the shots a player's passes set up |
| Dribbles | Times a player beats an opponent with the ball |
| Shots on target | Shots that would go in without a save |
| Open play key passes | Passes leading straight to a shot, not counting set pieces |
| Chances created | Passes and actions that set up a scoring chance |
| Key tackles | Tackles that stop a dangerous attack |
Expected goals came to the series as SI's own model, SIxG, in Football Manager 2021.
Passing by length
Passes are now split into Short, Medium and Long, each with completed totals and a success rate. That separates a center-back who only plays safe short passes from one who also lands long balls, which a single pass-completion figure hides. It also shows whether a "go longer" instruction from Tactical Tweaks and Shouts actually changed how your team played.
Pass Maps, Heat Maps and Action Zones
After the final whistle, the Data Hub shows Pass Maps, which SI says visualize patterns of play, where moves start and where chances are created. During a match, Heat Maps return and Action Zones are part of the wider data upgrade. SI lists all three among the screens it restored after Football Manager 26. FM Scout reports that Shot Maps return too. The match engine those maps describe is on Match Engine. In the clip MustermannFM, reviewing FM27 before launch (Oct 28, 2026), finds its heat maps better than he expected.
Defensive actions and pre-match messages
Out of Possession defensive actions now count fouls, and the Data Hub sends more pre-match messages, so analysis of the next opponent arrives before kickoff. That fits FM27's training, which is built around preparing for the next match; see Training and Tactical Effectiveness, where Next Match Information is one of the four drivers.
Data in recruitment
SI's Data Hub posts cover match analysis. In recruitment, FM27 shows other numbers: Scout Reports carry a player's Out of Possession role and Tactical Effectiveness fit, and the Player Database lists Out of Possession roles among key attributes. SI has not said whether the new per-90 figures appear as filters in the Player Database as of Nov 1, 2026. Scouting itself is on Recruitment and Scouting. The clip is SI's Oct 22, 2026 First Look Livestream, played on a pre-launch build.

Tactical Tweaks and ShoutsTactical Tweaks are FM27's one-button in-match changes, such as swapping the wingers, sending the goalkeeper up or reducing the press, that sit beside Shouts on the match screen and stay on until deselected. Shouts were rebuilt to change players' mental state instead of giving small attribute boosts.

Match EngineFM27's match engine rebuilds running speed, acceleration and stamina from Hawk-Eye Innovations data, adds Flair-based skill moves and defensive jockeying, and rebalances marking and attacks into the box. The 2D view gets smaller discs, a stronger ball shadow and see-through nets. -
TrainingFM27 replaces Football Manager 26's attribute-focused training Units with setups built around preparing for the next match, brings back copy and paste of training schedules, adds training plans for international camps, and keeps individual training for attributes, traits and positions.

Tactical EffectivenessTactical Effectiveness is FM27's measure of how well your players can carry out your tactic, built on Tactical Familiarity and driven by Tactical Understanding, Player Ability, Player Buy-In and Next Match Information.
