The best teams to manage in Football Manager 27, by Sports Interactive's own count, are Coventry City, London City Lionesses, Leicester City, Crystal Palace Women, Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Bristol City, Stranraer and BK Häcken, published on Oct 29, 2026, the day the free Launch Preview opened. FM Scout and Passion4FM published their own FM27 lists in Aug and Sep 2026, before anyone had the FM27 database, so they are built on the real 2026/27 season, not on in-game ratings. Every pick below is theirs, credited by name; squads, budgets and ratings can still change in the final game on Nov 10, 2026. SI's list mixes men's and women's clubs and every level from a top flight to Scottish League Two. Each comes with the job SI sets:

Rebuilds and fallen giants
The most common FM27 picks are big clubs that have just fallen. Leicester City appears on all three lists: SI's, FM Scout's and Passion4FM's, after successive relegations to League One. FM Scout's "10 Clubs to Rebuild" (Stam, Sep 15, 2026) lists, in order:

Passion4FM's fallen giants list for FM27 (Aug 14, 2026) runs to 16 clubs, among them 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Nottingham Forest, Dynamo Dresden, Sampdoria in Serie B, Independiente, IFK Göteborg, Rosenborg and Sheffield Wednesday.
Project clubs with money or a model
Passion4FM's best clubs to manage in FM27 (Sep 16, 2026) favors clubs with a clear identity to build: Werder Bremen as a rebuild with an academy, Sevilla as a sleeping giant needing a buy-low, sell-high model, Torino around homegrown players, Vejle Boldklub for data-led recruitment and Istra 1961 for youth. Its list also has União Torreense, the Portuguese second-tier cup winners in the Europa League, and Real Zaragoza.
For money, FM27's new license is the obvious place: the ROSHN Saudi League arrives fully licensed with all 18 clubs, and Saudi Arabia becomes playable for the first time, raising FM27's playable nations to 59. No editorial site had published a list of Saudi clubs to manage as of Nov 1, 2026. More on Leagues and Licenses. Lower league saves
Passion4FM's "10 FM27 LLM Save Ideas" (Sep 16, 2026) actually lists nine clubs: TSV 1860 München in the Regionalliga, Ars et Labor Ferrara (the re-founded SPAL) in Italy's fifth tier, SC Bastia, Oldham Athletic, CD Numancia, BK Frem, Piacenza, Folkestone Invicta and Real Unión. Passion4FM's best clubs list adds Dagenham & Redbridge, with new investors in National League South. SI's own list has Stranraer and Suwon. Lower-league saves use FM27's Tactical Effectiveness: SI says lower-division squads may struggle with complex tactics, so a simple plan comes first.
Women's teams
FM27 is the second Football Manager with women's football, and SI put London City Lionesses, Crystal Palace Women and BK Häcken on its list. FM27 adds the fully licensed Arkema Première Ligue in France, and SI counts 12 women's nations to choose from. See Women's Football.
